The Flame of Sacred Love

April 17, 2007

‘O thou who camest from above
The pure celestial fire to impart,
Kindle a flame of sacred love
On the mean altar of my heart.’

Based on the much-loved hymn of Charles Wesley, this book expounds the creative love of God and how we can draw closer to the heart of that love through contemplative prayer. Embracing insights from Orthodox, Catholic and Anglican spirituality, it is a truly ecumenical book that helps us to broaden our horizons and sink the roots of our faith deeper into the great traditions of prayer, nourished by the Bible. Such spirituality provides the fuel upon which the descending fire of the Holy Spirit will feed-to God’s glory and the believer’s joy.
